Macedonia, OH, USA, April 28, 2016 – Alternative fuel industry veteran Jeff King, former CEO of SSP, establishes InsightFuel. The new enterprise unites two companies, supplying vehicle makers and station builders with business and construction expertise to help the transportation industry embrace and promote green technology.
King forms InsightFuel after nine years as CEO of SSP. The last six years have provided Mr. King with the opportunity to develop new strategies for SSP in the alternative fuel industry, culminating in 2009 when King co-founded AFV Natural Gas Fuel systems. Now, with several years of alternative fuels experience in both CNG station construction and vehicle fuel systems, he launches InsightFuel, a leader in the clean fuel transportation market.
The businesses that merged to form InsightFuel include AFV, a producer of natural gas vehicle fuel lines (circa 2009), and CNG Plus, a construction services business helping contractors build compressed natural gas stations faster and safer with new materials and methods (circa 2014). AFV, a TS16949/ISO 9001 certified company, has engineering and manufacturing capabilities to produce low and high pressure CNG/LNG/LPG vehicle fuel lines made from tubing and hose. AFV also supplies these assemblies installed to, and/or kitted with related hardware including filters, valves, regulators and receptacles mainly to OEMs, fuel delivery system providers and converters.
CNG Plus has patented jobsite tooling used to connect CNG fueling station equipment (aka ‘interconnect piping’). CNG Plus provides interconnect piping materials (tubing, conduit, fittings and valves), assembly tooling, and training to support contractors building CNG stations.
Jeff King is the former CEO of SSP. SSP, founded in 1926 in Twinsburg, Ohio is a leading manufacturer of valves, fittings, tubing and tools for the instrumentation, research, process systems, oil & gas, petrochemical industries. Jeff was succeed by his brother David King, now CEO of SSP
Combining AFV and CNG Plus with construction expertise gives InsightFuel the resources and expertise to bring turnkey solutions to smaller light and medium duty fleet operators. “With the assistance of our partner, R.
